Making the most of Christmas for people living with dementia

With its traditional carols and routines, Christmas can work powerfully for people living with dementia, blessing them with memories of special church services and happy family gatherings.

In this Zoom meeting today two experts look at how to make the most of Christmas where there is dementia. Sally Nevitt, pastor for older people at Immanuel Church in Southbourne (known locally as the dementia church) describes how they bring it alive for people with dementia, and Jane Trimarco, Operations Manager for Pilgrims’ Friend Society and a former care home manager, gives ideas for making it special at home.
