Tune in on 29th September to hear a show recorded at our care home Middlefields House in Chippenham

We’re so excited that our care home Middlefields House, Chippenham, is featured on BBC Radio 4 as part of Sunday Worship on 29th September!

Broadcast from 8.10am, this edition of the flagship Sunday morning show ties in with the UN’s International Day of Older Persons, coming up on 1st October. ‘Family members’ (as we call those who live with us), staff, relatives and volunteers from across the Middlefields community consider the theme ‘God’s love across the generations’, sharing reflections, hymns, Bible passages and prayers.

At Pilgrims’ Friend Society, we believe that older people have so much to bring and so it is wonderful to celebrate their lives and all that they contribute with a broadcast on national radio. Well done to everyone who stepped up to the mic, you did us proud and we can’t wait to hear the final cut!

Middlefields House opened as a state-of-the-art care home in summer 2021. The home has an innovative household model where those who live with us are cared for in four households of 12. This household-style setting helps to support person-centred care in a homely environment – each household feels like a regular family home, with a lounge and dining area, as well as a second lounge/ library. The home also has a coffee shop on site, The Harvest Coffee Shop, open to members of the public – perfect for when our family members have visitors or when they fancy popping out for a coffee without going too far.

As is the case at all of homes, Middlefields House offers a warm and homely environment to all those who are sympathetic to the Christian faith. We have our own unique approach to care, The Way We Care, where we seek care for people as individuals, not just physically but also mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
