Bethany House to become newest member of Pilgrims' Friend Society family
Pilgrims' Friend Society is delighted to announce that Bethany House in Preston will join our network of care homes and housing schemes in April 2025.
The home, run by Preston Bethany Care (PBC), has been providing Christian care in Preston since it opened in 1987. The trustees of PBC have been prayerfully considering the sustainability of the home for a number of years in the evolving care sector and are pleased to be joining with Pilgrims' Friend Society to ensure the long-term future of Bethany House.
Stephen Hammersley, Chief Executive at Pilgrims' Friend Society said, "I am pleased that the wonderful community at Bethany House will become part of our family of care homes, and that we are able to support the important work of providing Christian care in Preston. It is a real privilege for Pilgrims' Friend Society to serve the home and all who live and work there in this way."
Janet Kay, chair of trustees of PBC said, "We’re delighted that Bethany House will become part of The Pilgrims’ Friend Group in the spring. As trustees we have been prayerfully considering the future of the home and are pleased that this change will ensure the future of Christian care in Preston for the long term.”
While Bethany House will remain as a separate legal entity being operated by Pilgrims' Friend Society it will become the fifth Christian care home to join the group in the last three years. As part of the organisation's commitment to expanding our capacity to provide excellent care and community for older Christians our Growth and Renewal Programme continues to work towards growing our work through supporting exisiting Christian care providers in a challenging social sector environment, and to explore opportunities to build new, state-of-the-art care homes within which to grow Christian communities.
As we prepare for this next stage, please pray for the community at Bethany House as they, together with the Pilgrims' Friend Society team, prepare for the upcoming transition. Pray that those living at the home would continue to flourish within the community, and that those working at the home would be encouraged in their work.
