Pilgrims’ Friend Society partners with Koinonia Christian Care
We’ll be providing support and guidance to this Worthing-based care home
We are pleased to announce that Pilgrims’ Friend Society is partnering with Koinonia Christian Care, a Christian charity who run a care home in Worthing. The care home provides care for up to 39 people and the mission and values of the charity are closely aligned with our own.
Robin Turnbull is a Trustee for Pilgrims’ Friend Society and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Koinonia. He said, “The Trustees of Koinonia have been prayerfully working to secure the long-term vision of our home. The professional capabilities of Pilgrims’ Friend Society will help us to continue to meet the opportunities and challenges of providing care to a rapidly ageing population in a highly regulated sector.”
The Koinonia care home is housed in five converted Victorian houses. The charity recognises that its present buildings will be time-limited by rising maintenance demands and the likely expectations of future residents. In the longer term, it is planned that the work will move to new purpose-built premises.
For the time being, Pilgrims’ Friend Society and Koinonia remain independent charities, while working as partners towards securing the very best care for older people in the Worthing area.
As part of our Renewal Programme, we're building six brand new care homes over the next 10 years. Find out about our first new home Middlefields House in Chippenham.
