Statement on the death of Queen Elizabeth II
Our Chief Executive Stephen Hammersley pays tribute to our "good and faithful servant"
“It is with great sadness that we reflect on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. She has served our country faithfully over many decades and her Christian faith has shone out, through times of sadness and times of joy.
“The Queen has a special place in the hearts of many of those who live with us. Her selfless service to the country, sense of duty, example and deep affection formed over many years mean that she will be greatly missed. As the Lord welcomes our Queen home, the words of Matthew 25:23 seem fitting, '….Well done, good and faithful servant!'
"Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones and we pray that they would know the Lord’s comfort in their grief.
“As Chief Executive of Pilgrims’ Friend Society, it is my prayer that as the nation mourns the Queen many will reflect on her Christian witness and the hope she has in the Lord Jesus. Will you join me in praying that the Lord will use her life and testimony to turn many eyes to Him?"
