Love was in the air as our care homes celebrated with fine food, live music and colourful craft activities

Middlefields House in Chippenham hosted a romantic lunch for ‘family members’ (those who live with us) in the Winter Garden, with live vocals and music on the guitar and violin. Family members were also blessed with handmade cards from children from the playgroup which meets on Wednesdays at the home.

Shottermill House, Haslemere took part in a heart-printing craft activity and enjoyed violin music and singing while Evington Home, Leicester got busy with paints and stickers to decorate hearts.

At Framland, Wantage relatives and friends were invited in to join a Valentine’s Day meal while Finborough Court in Great Finborough set up a special table where their maintenance officer could enjoy a romantic chip butty with his wife Sally, a carer at the home.

At Emmaus House, Whitehaven tables were set with heart-themed serviettes and adorned with bright yellow roses. Family members were also entertained with live singing and accompaniment on the electric guitar.

Giving the day an original twist, family members at Emmaus House, Harrogate celebrated with a special 'Love Bread, Love Sourdough, Love God' activity thanks to David from Vineyard church.

There were tasty treats in the form of heart-shaped biscuits, exquisitely decorated cupcakes and more at Milward House, Tunbridge Wells kindly baked by senior carer Ann and volunteer Riley. Family members were also looking very glam, dressing up for the occasion in 1930s-style fashions. Couple Connie and Alan also celebrated by exchanging cards and treats.
