Announcing the NCF Rising Stars of 2019
We are delighted to announce that Philip Smith, the manager of our Florence House care home in Peterborough, has been identified as one of the National Care Forum’s “rising stars”, and selected as one of just 10 leaders nationwide to undertake the National Care Forum (NCF) Leadership Development Programme for Registered Managers in Social Care, a programme which invests in the next generation of leaders in social care.
Launched in 2017, the Rising Stars Programme is an NCF initiative created to develop leadership skills through mentoring and learning opportunities. NCF members are invited to nominate managers and each year 10 are selected to participate in this unique programme. This is a brilliant opportunity to be supported, developed and to grow, and those who take part in the programme will benefit greatly.
Commenting on this year’s applicants, Vic Rayner, NCF's Executive Director, says: "We were overwhelmed with the response to the call for nominations for the 2019 NCF Rising Stars Programme. All the nominees put forward were strong contenders for the programme and it was difficult to narrow it down to just 10.”
The NCF Rising Stars Programme is supported by a number of NCF Partners. The programme kicks off at the NCF Annual Conference entitled Shaping the Agenda for Great Care, which will focus on the ‘Future’, engaging with some of the really critical areas for social care around future funding, meeting the needs of changing communities, equipping ourselves to benefit from the technological opportunities, recruiting and retaining a skilled and effective workforce.
Whilst we are very proud of all our managers across our care homes and retirement schemes, we are very excited for Philip and we agree he really is a rising star!
