About Royd Court in Mirfield, West Yorkshire
Royd Court is an award-winning independent living housing scheme built in 2007 in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
Within the scheme we provide a safe place for retired Christians to live within a loving community. We have 58 apartments, with a mix of one and two bedroom properties to lease or rent. Royd Court is a community of Christians who worship together each morning and Sunday afternoon followed by refreshments and fellowship.
We have a variety of other activities each month, including a ladies Bible study, a men’s group, exercise group, knit and natter, social evenings and much more.

Purpose-built apartments
- Electric Heating throughout
- A hallway with built in cupboard
- A generously sized wet room with grab rails, a seat in the shower area, Jack & Jill entrances
- Master bedroom with an airing cupboard. Room large enough for a double bed
- Second room in a 2 bedroom property. Useful for a second bedroom, dining room, office, or craft room.
- Lounge with several electricity sockets, tv point and landline socket. Some lounges have a Juliet balcony, others have a bay window.
- A kitchen with ample storage cupboards, built in cooker and hob. Spaces for washing machine or dish washer, fridge freezer or fridge.
- Communal facilities of a restaurant serving three course meals each lunchtime, including Christmas Day. Communal lounge, hairdressing salon, laundrette and assisted bathrooms.
- All apartments are wheelchair accessible.

Out and about in the local area
Royd Court is set in the town of Mirfield, which lies between Dewsbury and Huddersfield. Situated by the river Calder, Mirfield town centre is within walking distance.
Mirfield is a busy little town with an excellent selection of shops, hairdressers, local supermarkets, fish & chip shops, cafés, a library and doctor’s surgery, and dentists.
Within the local area of Mirfield and Dewsbury there are a vast choice of local churches. Many of the ministers and church leaders support our pastoral work at Royd Court by taking our morning devotions and Sunday afternoon services.
Mirfield railway station is less than half a mile away and it is only about 100 yards to the local bus stop which services the larger towns and cities, including Dewsbury, Wakefield, Leeds and Huddersfield.
Royd Court is close to the motorway network with the M62 less than three miles away and M1 within seven miles.

Staff
Vicki Miller
MANAGER
Vicki has been the Scheme Manager at Royd Court since 2010 having previously worked in the Gas Industry.
She leads the team at Royd Court to show love and compassion. Since being at Royd Court she has lead the team to win a Gold Award for the EAC National Housing for Older People Awards. In addition, the residents have worked with her and they have been successful in achieving a level 4 in the ‘In Bloom’ Awards.
Vicki is married to Nigel and they have 2 daughters. They attend Mount Tabor Community Church, Shaw Cross, Dewsbury as a family.
Clive Wilkinson
ASSISTANT MANAGER
Clive joined PFS when he started work as a carer at Royd Court in 2014. After two years he joined the Housing Team as Assistant Scheme Manager.
With a passion to serve the elderly Clive thoroughly enjoy his work amongst the residents.
Clive is married to Debbie, has a daughter and two grandchildren. He is a member at Mirfield Evangelical Church.

How to find us
By car
From the south
Leave M1 at Junction 40 taking the A638 to Dewsbury. From Dewsbury take the A644 signposted Huddersfield. After 3 miles you will enter Mirfield. Royd Court is passed the shops on the left hand side opposite Doctor Lane.
From the north (east)
Leave the M1 at Junction 42 joining the M62 heading West. Leave M62 at Junction 25 taking the 1st exit onto the A644. Left at the first set of traffic lights and a Right fork at the second set of lights. Royd Court will appear on your Right in approximately 1 mile.
From the north (west)
Leave M62 at Junction 25 taking the 3rd exit onto the A644. Left at the first set of traffic lights and a Right fork at the second set of lights. Royd Court will appear on your Right in approximately 1 mile.
By train/bus
Mirfield has it’s own railway station and is situated on the main Huddersfield/Leeds line. Coming out of the station head towards the high street. When you have reached the high street turn left. Royd Court will appear on your left. Walking time approximately 10-15 minutes.
Mirfield is situated between the two larger towns of Huddersfield and Dewsbury. There are regular bus services every 20 minutes to and from these towns.
